Sparta, WI, USA
In October of 2013, Portland Bolt received a call in regard to the Mary Morrow Covered Bridge project. The Mary Morrow Covered Bridge is a pedestrian bridge in Sparta, Wisconsin. It spans the width of Beaver Creek and connects to the Morrow Home Community, a retirement community named after Mary Morrow. The Morrow Memorial Home was established by Miss Morrow in 1917 and has now expanded to an entire retirement community, serving residents 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for over 95 years.
This wooden covered bridge had a tight time-frame and the contractor needed bolts quickly in order to meet the tight construction schedule. Thankfully, due to Portland Bolt’s immense 140,000 square foot facility and our vast inventory, Portland Bolt was able to ship the first order in just two days and the second order on the very same day. The project required different lengths of timber bolts (economy, dome head, etc.) and hex bolts with malleable iron washers and other hardware. The bolts had to be hot-dip galvanized due to weather exposure, but this is no problem for Portland Bolt because of our own in-house galvanizing line which is designed specifically for threaded fasteners. Do you have a job that requires galvanized bolts with a tight construction timeline? Give Portland Bolt a call. Our experienced salespeople will be happy to assist you with your fastener needs.
