Several times a year we get the opportunity to work with customers who have projects overseas. In 2007, a global provider of advanced combustion systems, asked Portland Bolt to supply anchor rods and J-bolts to support the flare stacks and panel racks for the new Sahara Al-Waha Petrochemical Plant. These galvanized anchor assemblies included nuts welded to 2-1/2″ and 1-3/8″ diameter anchor rods. After manufacturing was finished, the bolts were sent to Oklahoma to be packaged with other parts then sent together to the jobsite in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
This $526 million liquid petroleum gas processing plant is being built and managed by Sahara Al-Waha. The facility will manufacture petrochemical products crucial to the region and is scheduled to come online the end of 2008.
