Flower Mound, TX, USA
In May of 2019, the city of Flower Mound, Texas, broke ground on a 15,000 sq. ft. expansion and retrofit to its library. The original building was 25,000 sq. ft. bringing the new total square footage to 40,000. Though in recent years, e-readers have become the norm, the library in Flower Mound is thriving. With over 475 visitors per day on average, it functions as a much-needed community space. The new expansion will offer a dedicated children’s story area, a teen area with 4 additional study rooms, a digital media lab, and a multipurpose room. There will also be quiet, adult reading rooms and a large new display space for local artist shows and book sales.
The new expansion will feature wood structures that require large tie-rod assemblies. Portland Bolt specializes in custom tie-rod assemblies which made us the obvious choice for this project. The tie-rod assemblies ranged from 14’ to over 33’ in length. With our 140,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and 1.3 million pounds of steel round bar, these long rods were right up our alley. The project schedule was on a tight timeline but Portland Bolt is always up to the task of meeting quick lead times. All of the material was able to ship in just three weeks. If you have a project requiring custom tie-rod assemblies look no further than Portland Bolt. Our team of experts is ready to help you with your next project!
