Cass Vineyard and Winery wanted to create a unique opportunity – a bed and breakfast inn perched 8’ above the ground amidst the grapevines themselves. Guests would stay in recycled shipping containers retrofitted into luxury suites. The experience comes complete with a modern dining menu, educational programs, tours, and seminars to cultivate the guests’ wine expertise.
A steel fabricator manufactured the steel frames on which the former shipping containers would rest, and when they discovered they required more than 2 tons of custom bolts for just 8 lodging units they contacted Portland Bolt. The tie rod assemblies Portland Bolt produced for this project served as cross bracing supports for the steel frames.
