Montlake Elementary School in Seattle is in the midst of a significant renovation and expansion. The project involved modernizing the existing facilities and adding additional facilities, including a state-of-the-art library and media center and an auditorium for school events and community gatherings. Additionally, the expansion will add space to the school to accommodate the growing student population.
The project started in 2023 and is expected to be completed in late 2025 or early 2026.
In the fall of 2023, Portland Bolt was selected to manufacture the anchor bolts for the project. There were some particularly large anchor rods required for the project, including 2-1/2” and 2” diameter F1554 Grade 105 anchor rods. Smaller anchors included ¾” diameter F1554 Grade 55 anchor rods, which Portland Bolt manufactures efficiently with our roll threading equipment.
Large-diameter anchor bolts are a Portland Bolt specialty. Our overhead cranes and recent expansion from 96,000 square feet to 137,000 square feet allow adequate space to move large, heavy anchor bolts through our facility in an efficient manner, which cuts down on labor costs and lead times.
