Spring, TX, USA
Fire Station 75 in Spring, TX was forced to be vacated in 2015 due to mold growth, but in September 2018, a new station was scheduled to open. The new station will be 17,800 square feet, more than double the size of the previous station. This will enable the station to eventually house seven additional firefighters and an extra fire engine. Additionally, the new station is built to withstand a Category 3 hurricane.
Portland Bolt manufactured large tie rod assemblies for the new fire station. The tie rods were 2” in diameter, made from A572 grade 50 steel, and featured #5 clevises on each end. Portland Bolt provides tie rod assemblies both in plain finish and hot-dip galvanized for a variety of projects and applications, from supporting awnings and canopies to heavy timber beams and steel column bracing.
